Diplomatic Series Programs Presented by New York Life
Through this series, presented through the generosity of New York Life, members are provided with unique opportunities for developing contacts within the international community. The programs act as a forum through which embassies and international organizations can promote their country's commercial prospects and showcase their legislative agendas to the Washington trade community. Top notch speakers from the Embassy and abroad address trade issues of concern to their countries and the US, and the world at large.

The Diplomatic Series events create a relaxed atmosphere conducive to establishing a comfortable dialogue between US and foreign business, government and trade professionals. These events have proven to be an excellent means of facilitating enduring business partnerships and establishing connections in trade circles. The Diplomatic Series events permit and encourage interaction among attendees, both before and after the formal portion of the program. This combination of atmosphere and content have made our Diplomatic Series events some of the most popular in town!
And best of all, the embassies showcase their local delicacies and drinks!
WITA Professional Development Series
The WITA Professional Development Series will return in 2010! Read below to learn about the contents of the Series in its latest incarnation in 2008.

The WITA 2008 Professional Development Series, co-sponsored by the International Gateway at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, gives an overview of how the US Government's trade functions are organized, and how tade professionals can best understand and utilize them. The speakers are career professionals and insiders with years of direct experience.
PDS.2008 kicked off on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008, with Seminar 1: Trade Policy Responsibilities in the US Government. The Kickoff event featured an overview of US government agencies involved in international trade policy matters, and the responsibilities of each.

Each PDS.2008 event is a stand-alone session, or individuals can purchase the entire 9 part series to save 20%.

Trade Policy Series Programs
This series of programs--WITA's bread and butter-- serves to keep members and the Washington international trade community abreast of administration policy, changes in trade rules, and foreign perspectives on US trade policy.
Featured speakers are experts from private and public sectors, and frequently offer varying points of view. Programs often include exclusive, off-the-record remarks by senior government officials. These programs provide members with vital information for decision making, broaden their knowledge of trade issues, as well as networking opportunities - there is always an opportunity for interaction both before and after WITA programs.
Registration is through the WITA website, but you can also download and fax the
