Students completing the WITA internship in conjunction with a school program may opt to do a project that fulfills school or program requirements; or may out of this project opportunity.
The Executive Director also believes strongly in leveraging the interns' time in Washington DC, and makes time available to attend relevant and special events taking place throughout the city. Opportunities for informational interviews with trade policy professionals are also given to the interns, to allow them to gain a thorough impression of their professional opportunities and the job market. Formal introduction to leadership training is also a part of the WITA internship. The Director works hard to make each intern feel that they are a valuable part of the WITA team and making significant contributions to the organization as we host a great number of trade-related events, stimulate an ongoing trade dialogue, and have some fun along the way.
