Washington, DC 20004
When:
September 18, 2009
9:00 am - 11:00 am

Event Description
The report on the Sec. 421 case regarding tires
from China marks the first major trade decision
of the new administration. The unions
filing the original petition seek some
protection for US tire manufacturers; yet the
ITC recommendation in favor of graduated
tariffs over three years also noted that a
resulting adjustment in the market share for
tires would likely shift toward other foreign
competition. Any decision will have
political ramifications and could signal a
significant policy shift from the prior
administration. Our expert panel will
convene just one week since the report was
released, giving WITA members fresh reaction
and insight from some of the most accomplished
and informed trade professionals in the
field.
