Ethan Zen

Ethan Zen is the WITA Academy Fellow at WITA – The Washington International Trade Association. He joined WITA in July 2026. Originally from Malaysia, his passion for economics brought him to the U.S., where he obtained a double degree in economics and investment finance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

At Nebraska, Ethan’s experience as an economics tutor and a Yeutter Student Fellow, a role that included on-the-ground research in Ghana, led him to stumble upon international trade. Together, these experiences helped him connect the two fields, deepening his understanding of how data-driven economics informs policy-oriented international trade.

At WITA, Ethan is excited to support the advancement of international trade and to grow his understanding of global macroeconomic affairs.
