Theresa May is due to make a statement on Brexit to MPs later, which will be followed by a debate on next steps.

MPs are then expected to vote on a series of amendments or proposals.

The BBC’s Laura Kuenssberg says a source indicated Monday’s cabinet meeting was “more positive” about the chance of a third vote on the PM’s deal, but “not conclusive”.

The PM wrote to MPs last week saying she would only bring her deal back to a vote if there was “sufficient support”.

Mrs May’s withdrawal agreement has been overwhelmingly rejected in the Commons twice. She will update MPs on the outcome of the European Council meeting last week.
