RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – China’s soybean imports from Brazil retreated in March as rain delayed some shipments from the leading global exporter of the oilseed. Meanwhile, imports from the United States soared and increased more than fourfold as delayed shipments arrived, reaching the highest monthly total since December 2016.
China, the largest global importer of soybeans, bought 315,334 tons from Brazil in March, down 85% from 2.1 million tons in the same month a year earlier, according to data from the General Administration of Customs on Tuesday.
