French minister warns US-China tensions could escalate into Cold War

French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire warned Friday that the United States and China’s trade disputes could escalate into a new Cold War. Le Maire warned of a “real risk” of trade spilling into to broader conflict during a conference in Paris on the World Trade Organization’s future, according to the Associated Press. He said the WTO can counter the threat by solving its “consensus paralysis” on decision-making and by enforcing international trade rules. Read more here
