Idaho Governor joins European trade delegation

Governor Brad Little and First Lady Teresa are overseas on a six-day diplomatic mission. 

The Governor said he is promoting economic relations between the state and the Basque Country, the Netherlands, and Ireland. Idaho Department of Commerce Director Tom Kealey and Agriculture Department Director Celia Gould and their staff are also part of the trip.

In Basque Country, the group will meet with the Premier of the Historic Foral Territory of Bizkaia, the Mayor of Gernika, members of the Bizkaian Parliament, and the Basque Autonomous Community Government.   They are working to encourage trade relationships, investments, and to strengthen long-standing cultural connections.  The group hopes to promote cross-tourism, and collaboration with Idaho and Basque energy companies.

In Amsterdam, the group is meeting with the NewCold cold storage company to discuss its Idaho investments, as well as Tolsma-Grisnich, a company that developsd storage and processing solutons for agricultural products. 

The Irish portion of the trip will center on leaders of Ireland’s largest dairy processor, Glanbia.
