Trade dispute flares again as Australian wine blocked at Chinese ports

China has accused Australia of ruining the relationship between the two countries as new figures show tens of thousands of litres of Australian wine were blocked from entering the country in January.

In comments that could re-ignite bilateral tensions after two months of relative calm, China’s Ministry of Commerce on Wednesday night accused the Australian government of stigmatising “trade and economic relations”.

“They have adopted restrictive or even discriminatory measures which have ruined the cooperative atmosphere between us,” said Vice-Minister Wang Shouwen.
